Description

Description:

The ability to critically appraise research papers so that information can be relayed to patients or other healthcare providers is an essential skill for pharmacists. With science changing at a rapid pace and papers frequently being published on different aspects of healthcare, today’s pharmacists are expected to keep up with and discern evidence-based biomedical research.

This course outlines a robust process for assessing the credibility of research papers and consideration techniques for making clinical decisions. In addition, the course will provide you with the knowledge to develop and implement practice-based research on interventions to improve patient outcomes, especially with older adults.

This module is extracted from the Board Certified Geriatric Pharmacist (BCGP) Preparation Course. The content in this module provides current treatment guidelines for all populations and is not necessarily specific to geriatric care. Through this module community pharmacists will gain an overview of the condition and current treatment guidelines for all populations.
