Description

Description:

Delivering a Comprehensive Pharmacy-Based Vaccines Program was developed to provide pharmacists with the knowledge to become a primary source for information about the vaccines that pharmacists are permitted to administer in Ontario. This program dedicates approximately 10 to 20 minutes per vaccine, as well as individual modules on how to implement a pharmacy-based vaccine service, how to handle adverse events post- immunization and additional helpful resources.

This course will prepare you for travel-specific vaccines as well as refresh your knowledge of the day-to-day vaccinations that are becoming increasingly prevalent in pharmacy practices today.

This program is funded through the Independent Medical Education Grant by GSK Canada

Please note: Completion of this course does not grant authority to administer injections. Such authority is granted by legislation through each healthcare professional’s own regulatory college. For more information on the injection training requirements for pharmacists, please see the Ontario College of Pharmacists website.

If you are looking for injection training, please see our Immunizations and Injections Certificate Program for Pharmacists and Injection Training Certificate Program for Pharmacy Technicians.
