This course will focus on the pharmacological management of pain, with a specific emphasis on the elderly population. The course will provide an overview of the problems and barriers that exist in pain management for the elderly and the associated consequences. The course will explore the pharmacological and non-pharmacological approaches to pain management and the evidence behind them. Furthermore, this course will provide tools and strategies for assessing patients with pain and identifying drug-related problems that may impact their pain control. Strategies for addressing drug-related problems, including dose adjustments, discontinuation, and switching to alternative therapies will also be covered.
