Ischemic heart diseases are an inability to provide adequate blood supply to the myocardium due to narrowed heart arteries. Ischemic heart disease is often used interchangeably with acute coronary syndrome (ACS). Ischemic heart diseases often cause severe chest pain or discomfort and is a medical emergency that requires quick diagnosis and care. This course provides an in-depth understanding of ischemic heart diseases, focusing on the pathophysiology of acute coronary syndrome (ACS) and chronic angina. The course covers non-pharmacological therapies and secondary prevention therapies based on Canadian and American guidelines for elderly patients. Participants will learn about the latest treatments and management strategies for these conditions.
