This 3-module course will refresh your knowledge of the Influenza vaccines available in 2022, guide you through a review of the key steps in vaccine administration to provide safe and comfortable vaccinations for your patients.

Module 1: What’s New in Influenza Vaccines

  1. Identify vaccine options available for influenza immunization
  2. Describe new vaccine technologies currently in use
  3. Recommend appropriate influenza vaccines for children, seniors, and other special populations including pregnant women and immunocompromised individuals

 

Module 2: Review of Injection Administration

  1. Determine the supplies needed to safely administer injections
  2. Properly landmark the injection site for intramuscular injections
  3. Describe strategies to reduce patient pain and anxiety related to injections
  4. Identify strategies to reduce the risk of needlestick injury

 

Module 3: Managing and Reporting Adverse Events Following Immunization

  1. Describe common adverse reactions to influenza immunization and strategies for their management
  2. Identify and manage anaphylaxis
  3. Report adverse events following influenza immunization
