This course is designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of the etiology, pathophysiology, diagnosis, and management of heart failure. Participants will learn about the different types of heart failure, risk factors, and symptoms, as well as current treatment options, including lifestyle modifications, medications, and more. This course will also cover the classification systems for grading heart failure and left ventricular function, as well as the common therapy problems in the treatment of heart failure and its management. Current evidence-based treatment strategies for heart failure will also be discussed. Participants will gain the knowledge and skills needed to provide effective care to patients with heart failure.
This module is extracted from the Board Certified Geriatric Pharmacist (BCGP) Preparation Course. The content in this module provides current treatment guidelines for all populations and are not necessarily specific to geriatric care.
