(TORONTO, ON) Ontario Pharmacists Association (OPA) strongly urges that all health care providers get fully vaccinated as soon as possible to protect themselves, their teams and their patients against COVID-19 and its variants.

To assist with the safe re-opening of Ontario it is integral that everyone, especially health care providers do their part and receive the COVID-19 vaccines. Receiving vaccinations provides significant protection against serious illness, hospitalization, and even death.

Pharmacies have remained steadfast in the fight against COVID-19. As of July 19, 2021, over 2.9 million doses have been administered through Ontario pharmacies. As a key component of the health care system, pharmacy professionals are at the forefront of administering vaccines, answering questions and concerns, and addressing vaccine hesitancy. OPA encourages anyone who has questions about the science behind COVID-19 vaccinations to reach out to their trusted pharmacist for answers.

It is important that Ontario’s pharmacy professionals continue the momentum of administering vaccines, while also leading by being exemplary examples by being vaccinated
