The Ontario Pharmacists Association’s Audit Assist™ service gives Owners Bundle members access to timely, professional advice and support on topics related to third-party audits and pharmacy inspections.

We’ve expanded our audit support services to better serve your pharmacy’s needs!

Post-Audit Support

If you’ve already experienced an audit by either the Ontario Drug Benefit (ODB) or a third-party payor, the Ontario Pharmacists Association’s Professional Affairs department can provide advice and support through an initial review of your audit findings. Depending on the analysis of this review and the nature of the audit findings, you will be provided with suggestions on how to best proceed. If requested by you, the Association, may, if in its sole discretion it deems it appropriate, opt to make representations on your behalf to the third-party auditors/adjudicators.

We encourage subscribers who are eligible for this service to contact OPA as early as possible should you require assistance. Subscribers will be required to sign the disclaimer form prior to OPA providing any assistance. The review process and response can take up to two weeks and may take longer depending on the situation.

In general, it is best to refrain from responding to your audit results until you have had a chance to consult with OPA. The Association does not guarantee though that its involvement in the audit process will yield a more favourable outcome.

It is important that any and all documentation shared with the Association, directly or indirectly related to the audit, should be done in a manner that preserves, protects, and maintains patients’ privacy and confidentiality, as required under the Personal Health Information Protection Act and per the Ontario College of Pharmacists’ standards of practice and code of ethics. Before sending any documents or materials to the Association, you have the responsibility to ensure that all patients’ personal information and identifying information are properly and effectively removed or masked. In the event of your failure to comply with the necessary patient privacy requirements, the Association does not assume any liability for any privacy breach that may occur as a result.

  • Complete and fax or email back the agreement outlining the disclaimers, terms and conditions. Be sure to include your name and daytime phone number.
