This module will cover the topics of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) and erectile dysfunction (ED), including their prevalence and pathophysiology as well as the pharmacists’ role in managing BPH and ED. It will also discuss the signs, symptoms and lifestyle effects on males and their families. The laboratory findings related to the diagnosis and treatment of BPH and ED will be interpreted, and the various treatment types, including surgical interventions and pharmacotherapy, will be listed and summarized. The adverse effects of medications used to treat BPH and ED, and drug interactions with other medications, will also be discussed.
